Development Planning Centre
The Development Planning Centre (DPC) was set up in 1994 from an Endowment of Rs. 3.00 crores from the Planning Commission (that was disbursed in three installments up to 1999). The interest income from the Endowment is used to finance (beginning April 2000) the DPC will have one Professor, one Reader and two Research Associates.) The DPC has collaborated with the Central Planning Bureau of Netherlands and Erasmus University to build a macro-econometric model for forecasting the major parameters related to planning and public policy in India. The collaboration between the DPC and the CPB as well as Erasmus University is expected to continue during 2000-2003, and the scope of the model would be expanded.
