APPLIED ECONEMETRICS RESEARCH SECTION or RBI CHAIR UNIT

This section began functioning in 1979 under a Reserve Bank of India Endowment Scheme. It was designed to conduct econometric studies in India in areas of mutual interest to the Reserve Bank of India and the IEG, viz., money, trade, income and employment. In 1991, the RBI decided to make the chair permanent to give it a greater degree of stability and continuity of purpose. The staff of this Section includes one Professor and two Assistant Professors.
