Sandhya Garg is currently an Assistant Professor in the HDFC Chair of Banking and Finance at the Institute of Economic Growth. Earlier, she worked as Sir Ratan Tata Fellow at IEG and as an Associate Fellow at NCAER, Delhi. She primarily is an applied economist. Her research areas are in banking and finance, particularly in village and firm level access to finance, entrepreneurship across gender and caste groups. She completed her MA in Economics from Panjab University, Chandigarh; M.Phil. and Ph.D. from IGIDR, Mumbai.
